How the YouTube Channel Analyzer works

Paste a channel link and the analyzer pulls the channel's public data directly from YouTube in real time - the same numbers a strategist checks before deciding whether a niche or a competitor is worth copying.

  1. 1Copy the channel URL (youtube.com/@handle), the @handle alone, or the channel ID starting with UC.
  2. 2Paste it into the box and press Analyze. The report usually loads in 2-4 seconds.
  3. 3Read the Growth diagnosis: green = healthy, amber = needs attention, red = the growth leak.
  4. 4Move the RPM slider to your niche's rate to see a realistic monthly revenue estimate.
  5. 5Click the best video and the recent uploads to study what the audience actually rewards.

What the report shows

  • Subscribers, total videos and total views read live from the channel page.
  • Last 15 uploads with view counts, publish dates and a relative bar so you can see the spread at a glance.
  • Average and median views. The median matters more than the average on YouTube: one viral video drags the average up while the median tells you what a normal upload earns.
  • Uploads per week and days since the last upload - the two numbers the recommendation system cares about most for Browse (home-feed) traffic.
  • Consistency score (0-100) based on how regular the gaps between uploads are. Channels above 70 keep their Browse traffic; irregular channels lose it.
  • Breakout detection - when the best recent video is more than 3x the median, the format behind it is worth repeating.
  • Revenue estimate = average views x uploads per month x RPM. Set the RPM for the niche (finance $12-25, self-improvement $4-8, Shorts far lower).

Who uses it

  • Faceless / cash-cow channel builders validating a niche: run three competitors and compare median views and cadence before producing a single video.
  • Creators auditing their own channel before a thumbnail or schedule change.
  • Agencies and freelancers preparing a proposal - the diagnosis bullets map directly to deliverables.
  • Sponsors and brands sanity-checking a creator's real reach versus the subscriber number.

Where the data comes from

The tool reads YouTube's public RSS feed for the channel (the last 15 uploads with view statistics) and the public channel page for subscriber and video counts. Nothing is scraped from private dashboards and nothing is stored - results are cached for ten minutes to keep it fast. Optional: with a YouTube Data API key the operator can enable exact lifetime view totals.

Limits to know

Only the latest 15 uploads are available through the public feed, so lifetime averages are not shown. Shorts and long-form are mixed in the list; if a channel posts both, judge them separately. Revenue is an estimate: real RPM depends on audience country, season, video length (8+ minutes unlocks mid-rolls) and advertiser demand.

Frequently asked questions

Is the YouTube channel analyzer free?+

Yes. There is no sign-up, no API key and no limit for normal use. Results are cached for ten minutes.

Can I see a channel's subscriber count in real time?+

Yes. The subscriber count is read live from the public channel page each time you analyze (cached for 10 minutes). It shows the same rounded number YouTube displays publicly.

How is the revenue estimate calculated?+

Average views of the last 15 uploads x uploads per month x the RPM you choose. RPM defaults to $4.70, a typical US self-improvement rate; move the slider for your niche.

Does it work for YouTube Shorts channels?+

Yes, Shorts appear in the upload list. Shorts earn far less per view, so set the RPM slider to $0.10-$0.30 when estimating a Shorts channel.

Why does the tool only show 15 videos?+

YouTube's public feed exposes the latest 15 uploads. That is enough to measure cadence, consistency and recent performance, which is what growth decisions depend on.
